Excellence in Supply Chain Research: KLU once more among the top 3 German universities
KLU once more placed among the top three German universities for Supply Chain Management Research, according to the latest SCM Journal List Ranking. In the ranking for empirically and analytically focused journals alike, KLU came in 2nd place. In the global ranking, KLU made it in the top 100.

“This excellent result proves once more KLU’s continuous development and outstanding research in logistics and supply chain management,” says University President Prof. Dr. Thomas Strothotte. KLU was once again the only German university to place among the top two for both the empirically and analytically focused journals. “It’s great to see that the combination of relevant for the industry and rigorous research that the KLU is striving for is recognized once again,” says Prof. Maria Besiou, KLU’s Dean of Research.
Europe-wide, KLU placed 4th for the empirically focused journals and 10th for analytically focused journals, an improvement in both rankings compared to last year.
The SCM Journal List is an annual ranking that assesses universities’ supply chain management research output in leading journals. It is based on publications released in the last five years (this year: 2017-2021) and is divided into two categories: empirically focused and analytically focused journals. This year, we are proud to report that, among German universities, KLU took home the highest marks in both rankings. The full rankings can be found here.
