KLU Celebrates Milestone Events in Vietnam

Kühne Logistics University (KLU) recently marked a significant milestone in its journey towards establishing a new presence in Vietnam with two major events: the first South-East Asia Network Conference and Research Symposium on “Supply Chains for a Sustainable Future”. The events underscored KLU's commitment to fostering academic excellence, scientific research, and industry collaboration in the region.

"These two events brought together the experience, expertise and perspectives of science and industry, promoting a broader discourse on the sustainable future of supply chains worldwide”, said KLU President Prof. Andreas Kaplan. “They are a starting point towards our goal to strengthen the links between science and industry in both Vietnam and Southeast Asia.”

KLU’s Dean of Research, Maria Besiou: "The symposium has highlighted the importance of collaborative research in addressing global challenges. We appreciate the dedication and insights of all our contributors, and we are excited about the future prospects for research and education in the region."

Bringing Together Industry and Science

The South-East Asia Conference brought together distinguished experts from science and industry, to promote a broader discourse on supply chains for a sustainable future. In two panels, international experts from both academia and the industry discussed sustainability and lifelong learning as future skills in supply chain management and the environmental challenges and opportunities of supply chains in South East Asia. The panels were moderated by KLU’s Prof. Prisca Brosi and Prof. Alan McKinnon.

The South-East Asia Research Symposium further highlighted cutting-edge research with presentations from notable academics like KLU’s Dean of Research, Prof. Dr. Maria Besiou, and Prof. Dr. Ruth Banomyong from Thammasat Business School, Thailand. Sessions focused on collaboration, green logistics, and meta perspectives, showcasing insights from leading researchers such as Prof. Dr. Mark Goh from the University of Singapore Business School and Dr. Nguyen Hung from RMIT University, among many others.

KLU extends heartfelt thanks to all participants, including the experts and attendees, for their invaluable contributions to these events. Their participation has been pivotal in advancing KLU's mission to expand its educational footprint in Vietnam. With these events, KLU has laid a strong foundation for its future endeavors in Vietnam, paving the way for enhanced educational and research opportunities in the region.

KLU VIETNAM CAMPUS

The research symposium and network conference are part of KLU’s journey to start a new campus in Vietnam’s vibrant business and logistics hub Ho Chi Minh City. Founded in 2010, KLU’s vision is to provide the world’s best leadership and management education, firmly rooted in an operations mindset. We strongly believe that effective leadership anywhere in the world requires a deep understanding of logistics, operations, and supply chain management.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Southeast Asia’s logistics hub, KLU aims to advance these fields through both research and teaching. Kühne Logistics University intends to offer dedicated programs in logistics and supply chain management at both the bachelor's and master’s levels, as well as provide executive education and lifelong learning opportunities.
