“You can do IT”: KLU becomes an official partner of ITgirls

Kühne Logistics University has started a cooperation with ITgirls, an initiative for young women interested in the tech and IT sector. This collaboration taps on one shared goal from both organizations: to empower future female leaders.

ITgirls was founded by Laura and Lena John, who discovered their own interest in IT after initially coming from non-technical backgrounds. Their ambition is to encourage more young women to explore the tech world. They show that IT is more accessible than many girls think, through real stories and role models from the industry.

The initiative brings together a growing network of partners, including companies such as ABOUT YOU, Adobe, Beiersdorf, BCG Platinion, Dataport and Deutsche Telekom. KLU is now also part of this network as a cooperation partner in the field of science and higher education.

Opening doors to new opportunities in IT

The cooperation connects well with ITgirls’ mission to inspire girls and young women to enter tech, while also giving KLU the opportunity to highlight study and career paths where digital skills, data science, logistics and management come together – like the MSc in Business Analytics and Data Science, where programming and data analytics are at the core of the program; or the MSc in Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management, field in which digitalization is redefining entire processes and driving innovation.

Raising the next generation of female leaders

With the motto “You can do IT,” ITgirls sends a clear message: tech is not only for people with technical backgrounds. The collective aims to make technology feel less intimidating, more relatable and more attainable for young women, with a long-term outcome of more women entering IT leading to greater gender equality in the industry.  This double-mission positively aligns with KLU’s core values, making this cooperation an investment in today’s girls and tomorrow’s female leaders.

We are excited to see what this collaboration will bring.
