A Growing KLU Family: Alumni Couple Welcomes Baby

Many of our alumni stories highlight the inspiring career paths of our graduates. Yet as a small private university that recently celebrated its 15th anniversary, we are just as delighted to share life’s personal milestones—from weddings to new arrivals. Moments like these remind us that the KLU community continues to grow in the most meaningful ways.

For alumni Allison Keith (MSc Global Supply Chain Management, class of 2019) and Martin Keith (MSc Global Supply Chain Management, class of 2019), KLU played a particularly meaningful role…it’s where their story together began.

The couple first met in 2017 during the Tri-Continental Master’s in Global Supply Chain Management program. Martin had already completed his Bachelor’s degree at KLU, while Allison joined the program from the University of Tennessee. Their time in Hamburg proved transformative, both personally and professionally.

Now living in Düsseldorf, the couple wants to share joyful news with the KLU community: just before Christmas, they welcomed their daughter, Margaret. You can see her on the picture rocking the brand where her parents met.

Today, Allison serves as Chief Operations Officer at ItsMyCargo, while Martin works as the Head of Logistics for FAKO-M Getränke. Now, they are up to another, more personal logistics project: litte Margaret, who will need all their operational skills and mindset.

Reflecting on their time at KLU, they shared that the experience shaped their lives in ways that extend far beyond their careers. “Our time at KLU was truly life-changing, and we could not speak more highly about our experience and education,” says Allison.

Their story is a wonderful reminder that the KLU community continues to grow in unexpected and meaningful ways. We would like to thank Allison and Martin for sharing this wonderful news with our alumni community, and we wish them all the best for this exciting new chapter in their lives. If you would like to say hi and congratulate them, you can send them a message on LinkedIn.
