The KLU Alumni Mentoring Program
The KLU Alumni Mentoring Program connects final-semester students with experienced alumni — to exchange insights, explore career options, and grow personally and professionally.
Learn from real-world experience. Build confidence. Shape your future.
What Is Mentoring?
Unlike coaching, which focuses on developing specific skills or achieving defined goals, mentoring is centered on personal and professional growth through shared experience and guidance. Mentors draw on their own journeys to offer advice, perspective, and support. Although this program spans only six months, it aims to foster meaningful connections and lasting development.
KLU’s mentoring program connects alumni with students in their final semester—right when they’re making critical decisions about careers, industries, and life after university.
Students will be matched with a KLU alum who shares their professional journey, lessons learned, and insights about life after university.
Together, you’ll explore your career goals, build resilience, and gain clarity for your next steps.

Your Role as a Mentor
At KLU we will match you with a student based on interests, goals, and professional background —making the experience meaningful for both sides. As a mentor, you’ll help students:
• Clarify career goals and explore options
• Build confidence and resilience
• Expand the professional network
As a mentor, you should:
• Share your story - career path, lessons learned, challenges overcome
• Provide insights into your industry and personal growth
• Offer guidance tailored to your mentee’s interests and goals
• Be open to questions, ideas, and decisions
• Encourage growth through honest feedback and support
• Open doors to relevant networks when possible
It’s not about having all the answers — it’s about supporting someone to learn how to find them.
Your Role as a Mentee
To make the most of your mentoring experience, take initiative and stay engaged.
Your mentor is there to support you — but the drive comes from you.
As a mentee, you should:
- Take initiative in scheduling and preparing meetings
- Be open to feedback and put advice into action
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Stay committed and proactive throughout the program
It’s your opportunity to ask questions, test ideas, and get real-world perspectives — from someone who once stood where you are.
