The humanitarian supply chain is critical for delivering aid to those in need. However, there is a lack of comprehensive data to support evidence-based, strategic decision-making and advocacy efforts—particularly regarding free-to-user transportation services, which are vital for optimizing humanitarian logistics. Airlink has identified this gap and commissioned a study from the Centre for Humanitarian Logistics and Regional Development (CHORD) at Kühne Logistics University (KLU) to address it.
This study explores how various stakeholders—including NGOs, commercial aviation and logistics companies, and philanthropic actors—can collaboratively identify and implement solutions to overcome key barriers in aid delivery. These stakeholders can only make meaningful contributions once the challenges are clearly defined and their criticality is supported by robust data.
