Innovative reusable concepts are an important lever for reducing the amount of packaging waste and thus fight against the waste of resources and climate change by practicing a circular economy. A widespread acceptance of reusable packaging by the population in the to-go sector (e.g. drinks/coffee cups, bowls) requires a user-friendly system, which does not yet exist. Probably the most important unresolved aspect is the user-friendliness of the return process. Only if every container can be returned anywhere and across all systems and return options, consumers will perceive reusable packaging as user-friendly. The approach and aim of the project is to develop the Return Anywhere approach and test it in a microcosm.
